AICNCC

Many IEEE-USA members have turned to consulting as a way to practice their profession. Many of these members have come together to form local Consultants Networks. IEEE-USA is working to support these members career exploration into the field of self-employed consulting through its Alliance of IEEE Consultants' Networks Coordinating Committee (AICNCC). AICNCC helps local IEEE Consultants' Networks coordinate their activities and provides services to individual consultants in areas lacking sufficient members to start a local network. AICNCC's objectives include fostering the growth of Consultants' Networks in the United States, encouraging consultants to join existing networks or form new ones, promoting the use of independent technical and engineering consultants by industry and business, and providing educational activities for self-employed members. To date over 40 groups of IEEE members have formed local IEEE Consultants’ Networks.

Teaching Today's Engineering Students To Be Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs
Today's Engineer recently sat down with G. Kemble Bennett, Ph.D., P.E., vice chancellor of engineering for The Texas A&M University System and dean of the Dwight Look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University, where he leads one of the largest and highest ranked engineering programs in the nation. Dr. Bennett shared with TE insights on the importance of entrepreneurship, and what Texas A&M is doing to make it part of its engineering curriculum.

IEEE-USA Consultants Profile eBooks
As a consultant is preparing a proposal or negotiating a contract, one of the primary concerns is deciding how much to charge. To establish a fixed price or a fee that is both competitive and fair, the consultant needs to know what other consultants working in similar fields charge. In response to this need, the Alliance of IEEE Consultants Networks (AICN) conducts national fee surveys of its members.  Download eBook
