IEEE-USA Principal Staff Profiles
Chris J. Brantley
has served as IEEE-USA’s managing director since
2004. He directs and manages the organization’s Washington office, supports its Board of Directors, serves on the IEEE Management Council and provides strategic direction to IEEE-USA’s government relations programs, member and professional activities and communications efforts. He previously served as IEEE-USA’s director of government relations and operations.
Prior to joining IEEE in 1989, Brantley worked for the American Association of Engineering Societies as assistant to the executive director. He earned a juris doctorate in law and master’s degree in international affairs from the American University’s Washington College of Law and School of International Service, respectively. He received a bachelor of arts in political science from Mercer University in Atlanta.
Brantley is licensed to practice law in Georgia and serves as an adjunct professor at the Washington College of Law, where he teaches a graduate seminar on international courts.
Burden is in her 17th year with IEEE-USA. For the past 10 years, she has served as
IEEE-USA's administrator of financial services. Prior to her promotion, she
was a bookkeeper. Burden is responsible for IEEE-USA financial transactions and record-keeping, and works with the organization’s managing director to support IEEE-USA’s volunteer secretary-treasurer. She is also staff liaison to the IEEE Human Resources Department.
From November 1994 to November 1996, she worked as a clerk-typist in the Fellowships and Grants Office of the Smithsonian Institution. Burden graduated from Central High School in Capitol Heights, Md., and attended the DeVry Institute of Technology. She earned her bachelor of science degree in accounting from Strayer College.
Daryll Griffin, program manager, careers & innovation programs,
manages IEEE-USA career, member and innovation
activities. His responsibilities include a strong
emphasis on Webinars and consultant and employment
programs. Griffin came to IEEE-USA in December 2008 after working for the District of Columbia Behavioral Health Association as executive director. He led the organization’s first board of directors in strategic development and served as lead advocate and public policy negotiator.
Griffin began working as assistant to the executive director of the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association in 1995. He was promoted to executive director in 2003 and remained in that position until 2006. His principal duties included financial management, member services and lead advocacy. He also worked simultaneously as a staff associate for the United States Conference of Mayors from 1995-2003. He began his career at the National Association of Counties tracking workforce development issues. Griffin earned his bachelor of arts degree in history and master’s degree in city and regional planning from Morgan State University. He completed a certificate in nonprofit management from John Hopkins University. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his son Ian.
Russell T. Harrison was promoted to IEEE-USA director of government relations in 2014. He previously served as senior legislative representative for grassroots activities. In addition to providing overall strategic direction and day-to-day operational management of IEEE-USA's government relations program and staff, he focuses on programs and activities designed to help U.S. IEEE members interact with Ė and influence Ė elected officials. He is also responsible for a number of IEEE-USA government relations initiatives, particularly small- and independent-business policy and high-skill immigration reform.
Harrison has spoken to more than 200 IEEE groups around the country to discuss engineersí role in public policy. Prior to joining IEEE-USA, he directed grassroots programs at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries and the American Iron and Steel Institute. He has represented the recycling and steel industries on Capitol Hill and in state capitols on a variety of issues as a professional lobbyist. Harrison earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, with minors in history and communication arts, from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. and a Masterís in Public Policy from the University of Maryland. Harrison, who has earned a certified association executive (CAE) professional certificate, lives in Manassas, Va., where he serves as Chair of the Manassas Electoral Board and is a member of the Manassas Planning Commission.
Greg Hill, electronic communications manager, carries out a number of functions as a
member of the IEEE-USA communications team. He is staff editor of IEEE-USA Today's
Engineer Online, the Today's Engineer Email Update and the
IEEE-USA home page. He also designs and contributes content for a variety of
internal communications to U.S. IEEE members featuring IEEE-USA activities.
Hill represents IEEE-USA on the IEEE Editors Forum and What's New @ IEEE
corporate work groups. He has a B.A. in English from The Pennsylvania State University.
David T. Iams is IEEE-USA's career, member and professional activities manager. Prior to
joining the staff in May 2014, he had served most
recently as senior director of operations for the
Optoelectronics Industry Development Association (OIDA).
At OIDA, he was responsible for program
management, volunteer relations, membership
recruitment and retention, strategic planning,
marketing, social media campaigns and event
planning (local, national and international). Iams manages
the IEEE-USA Awards & Recognition Committee, K-12 STEM
Education Committee, PACE Committee and PACE Network, Annual Meeting Steering Committee and
other projects related to career and members
services. Iams lives in
Annapolis, Md., where he serves as vice chair of the City of Annapolis Planning
Commission. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a
B.A. in communications.

Professional Awareness Committee, as well as
provides logistical and administrative support for
the IEEE-USA Board of Directors, Entrepreneurship
and Innovation Policy committee, Nominations &
Appointments committee, and the WISE and Government
Fellows programs. She also assists with the IEEE-USA
webinar program and the Future Leaders Forums. She
brings a decade of meeting and event planning
experience. Prior to IEEE-USA, Diana worked with
IEEE Computer Society within Governance, assisting
the Associate Executive Director/Director of
Governance. She moved to Washington, DC from Boston
after having worked at Massachusetts Institute of
Technology, From the Top, a music education
organization, the Huntington Theatre Company and
Central Square Theater. She received her Masterís
Degree in Arts Administration with a focus on
Fundraising from Boston University and her BA in
Theatre for Acting from Florida State University.
(Mick-MAYNZ) is in his 14th
year with IEEE-USA and was promoted to public relations manager in November
2007. He is the organizationís principal media contact and helps to
formulate its government relations strategy. He is IEEE-USAís staff liaison
to National Engineers Week and vice-chair of the committee that plans
Discover Engineering Family Day. McManes came to IEEE-USA after working for two-and-a-half years as sports information director at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. He promoted the men’s basketball team when it won the 2001 NCAA Division III National Championship and is now a consultant to the athletic department. He has worked as a radio color analyst on major college basketball games and has conducted exclusive interviews with sports figures such as Chad Pennington, Phil Jackson, Billy Donovan and Michael Jordan. McManes graduated from the University of Maryland in 1982 with a degree in kinesiological sciences (the study of human movement). He also attended the University of North Texas and studied journalism at the University of North Carolina. He lives in Hyattsville, Md., with his wife Cindy, son Tyler, and daughters Kasey and Ally.
Aline McNaull is IEEE-USAís newest
Legislative Representative. Before joining
IEEE-USA, she held Public Policy Associate position
with the American Institute of Physics. She has
interned with the House Committee on Science, Space
and Technology and with U.S. Representatives John
Boccieri and Tim Walz. She has also been employed
as an Engineer I with Raytheonís Advanced
Development Group and as a patent examiner in the
U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She holds a
bachelors in physics from Bryn Mawr and is currently
completing a Masterís Degree in International
Science and Technology Policy with the George
joined IEEE-USA in 2014. He brings 12 years of congressional experience, most recently as chief of staff to a U.S. representative. While working in Congress, he developed rich experience in a multifaceted portfolio of legislative policy issues. As senior advisor for government relations, Savage advances the strategic interests of IEEE-USA among the U.S. Congress, federal officials, and government agencies.
Georgia C. Stelluto, in her 24th year with IEEE-USA, serves as publications manager. She has more than 35 years experience in communications, publishing and market research.
Stelluto lends her skillful storytelling, managing and editing ability to all IEEE-USA publications, including position statements, whitepapers, committee newsletters and E-Books. She serves as a writer and editor-in-chief of IEEE-USA in ACTION and represents the organization’s publishing interests on the IEEE corporate level.
Stelluto earned a bachelor of science degree in communications from James Madison University (JMU), with a concentration in journalism and theatre. She has written for The Alexandria (Va.) Gazette, JMU’s The Breeze and The Harrisonburg (Va.) Daily News Record.
Before coming to IEEE-USA in 1989, Stelluto held communications, market research and training positions with Sato Travel, Computer Network Corporation and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey.
Stelluto has written and produced a full-length play, a two-act stage play and two screenplays. In addition, she wrote, produced and performed her 90-minute, one-woman show: Walking with Mary: The Crucifixion,The Resurrection, and The Ascension. It premiered at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Santa Fe, N.M., in April 2011 and is available on DVD.
Erica Wissolik has served as IEEE-USA’s program manager for government activities since 2003. She manages the organization’s Government Fellows program and its participation in WISE, the Washington Internships for Students of Engineering. She also staffs IEEE-USA’s Intellectual Property and Energy Policy committees, and supports advocacy efforts on IEEE standards, open access issues, and career and technology policy priorities.
From 1997-2003, Wissolik worked as a policy analyst for the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission, where she managed the statutory reviews of several state regulatory agencies, including those responsible for parks and wildlife and health and human services. She previously worked for the Congressional Research Service, serving as an information specialist and program coordinator for the Special Congressional Task Force on the Development of Parliamentary Institutions in Eastern Europe.
Wissolik holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa., and a master’s of public and international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. She was born in Nairobi, Kenya and is a fellow of Saint Vincent’s Center for Northern Appalachian Studies.

now RCN Corporation, the nation's largest regional Internet Service Provider. His technical specialties include interface design, graphic layout, multimedia production and Windows server
installation and maintenance. He also excels in developing
and formulating effective Internet marketing solutions that work in tandem with print and
