Are You in Need of a Career Checkup?
Continuous career development is important for
all technical professionals. To help facilitate
that important process, IEEE-USA recently
launched the Career Checkup, an online tool
which can be found at

Depending upon your selections, you will be
taken to a series of resources to assist you
along your career development path. Like your
annual physical check up, a career checkup at
least once a year can help to keep your career
healthy and vibrant.
IEEE-USA 2008 Salary Survey Now in Progress
IEEE U.S. members who are interested in
benchmarking their worth in today's workforce
should respond to the 2008 Salary Survey. All
respondents are provided with five free uses of
the IEEE-USA Salary Calculator based on the 2008
data, once it is compiled. Employers may also
purchase subscriptions to the Published Report
and the Individual Compensation Analyzer,
without having to provide data for the survey.
The IEEE-USA Salary Service member and employer
versions will be updated with 2008 survey

Salary Service, Member Version, Now Available
Online
IEEE Members now can have free access to the
latest version of a tool to benchmark their
compensation at their current or prospective
position. The IEEE-USA Salary Service, Member
Version, uses a regression model based on data
from the current year's Salary Survey to allow
precise estimates of base pay and income from
primary sources. To obtain free, unlimited
access to the Salary Service, just go to
http://salary.ieeeusa.org, log in using your
IEEE Web Account, and complete the IEEE-USA
Salary Survey. Once the Survey is submitted, you
may log in again at the same site to use the
Salary Calculator.
IEEE-USA Consultants Fee Survey Report Reveals
Current Rates For Professional Services
The results from the 2004 IEEE-USA Consultants
Fee Survey are in. Nearly 1000 U.S. IEEE-member
consultants participated in the Fall survey --
the largest number ever. While the median hourly
billing rate increased $10 from the last survey
in 2002, to $110/hour, median annual gross
income dropped $20,000, to $100,000/year.
