Candy Robinson is currently a Software Engineering Manager for Lockheed Martin MST, assigned to the F-35 program. She worked as a design and software engineer for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the Superconducting Super Collider Laboratory, and for the Boeing Company.  She has published papers at the IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and for the SWE National Convention. She is a Distinguished Toastmaster, ACM member, IEEE Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), and Life member of SWE. She has served in many career guidance activities, including MathCounts, IEEE's Teacher in Service Program (TISP), Girl Scout badge workshops, science fair judging, career fair presentations, Expanding Your Horizons conference chair and presenter, and Future Cities judge. She received a BSEE degree from the University of Texas at Austin (1977), an MSCS degree from the University of California at Davis (1986), and an MBA in Engineering and Technology Management from the University of Dallas (1999).

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • As Director of Region 5, responsible for strategic leadership, organizing and leading several executive committee meetings per year, as well as oversight and management of the Region budget and Region business. Served on Board of Directors for IEEE, IEEE MGA, and IEEE-USA. 
  • As first Women in Engineering Coordinator for Region 5, created a listserv and increased the communication and dialog among women in the Region. Awarded 2005 Regional Activities Board Achievement Award for this work. 
  • Successfully led the Dallas Section as Chair resulting in Outstanding Large Section award in 2003. 
  • Spearheaded Teacher-in-Service training program for IEEE members in the Dallas area, resulting in recruiting strong leaders who annually orchestrate outstanding Teacher training days in Fort Worth. 
  • Created Government Activities committee in Dallas. Served as Region 5 Government Activities Coordinator, and recruited Region 5 members to visit D.C. each year.
