IEEE-USA is exhibiting at Awesome Con this year, and we need your help at the booth to help make it a big success!

Awesome Con is a celebration of science and geek culture, bringing together 70,000 fans and their favorite stars from comics, movies, TV and more. You’ll find stars from Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel and more alongside real NASA astronauts. Visitors can dress up and get their photo taken with Anthony Daniels (Star Wars’ C3PO) then learn about the science behind The Mandalorian at a panel hosted by the National Science Foundation. There’s something for everyone!

We’re looking for several volunteers from the DC area to join our staff at the IEEE-USA booth. You’ll answer questions, tell visitors about what IEEE and IEEE-USA have to offer, and hand out giveaway items including an IEEE-USA original comic book featuring engineering superheroes The Tesla Twins!

We will arrange shifts so that all volunteers will have time for breaks and at least half the day off to explore the show floor if you wish.

Please respond to Corey Ruth at c.ruth@ieee.org with your preferred shift(s) from the list below:

  • SHIFT 1: Fri, June 3, 1:00pm – 4:30pm
  • SHIFT 2: Fri, June 3, 4:30pm – 8:00pm
