Presenter: Don Herres and Jenna Turman

Overview

This workshop is of interest to anyone with an online resume, but it will be most useful for those at the “bookends” of their career. For new graduates, you need to distinguish yourself from the 75 other resumes in the “pile” that all look the same. Your future employer is interested in how you can help them meet their objectives and how you can add value to their company. Many experienced engineers have not needed to do job searches for 10, 20 or more years. Your resume has to show strengths that are going to meet the current needs of employers. You need to show how work done in the past meets future requirements. We also will discuss the differences in searching for full time employment, contract work or consulting and what advantages each type of work has. We will do both a formal presentation and have live demonstrations of how to navigate through LinkedIn to use it to your advantage. This will be interactive and we encourage your questions throughout the webinar.
