Curious about consulting? How to get started? Joins us as a veteran consulting engineer shares the secrets of starting, building, and maintaining a small part-time or full-time consulting firm. We’ll address four key questions:  How do you get leads? How do you set fees? How do you decide what to consult about? And last but not least — How do I get started? This talk has been shared at several technical conferences.

About the Presenter

Daryl Gerke (PE) is the surviving partner of Kimmel Gerke Associates, an engineering firm that specializes in EMI/EMC design, troubleshooting and training. For forty years (ten part-time/thirty full-time), Daryl and the late Bill Kimmel (PE) made their living as consulting engineers. Now semi-retired, Daryl shares his knowledge and experience through his blog (JumpToConsulting.com), presentations, and a soon-to-be-released e-book. His avowed goal is to help interested engineering colleagues enjoy the consulting life as he has. Daryl has a BSEE from the University of Nebraska, and is NARTE Certified EMC Engineer and a Registered Professional Engineer (PE). He and his wife, Mary, reside in Mesa, Arizona.
