IEEE volunteers who participate in IEEE-sponsored activities that include children must complete the required steps at the IEEE Activities with Children page or they will not be authorized to participate in those activities and programs.

50K Coalition

The 50K Coalition is a unique collaborative of more than 40 organizations focused on a bold national goal: to produce 50,000 diverse engineering graduates annually by 2025. The coalition was formed by the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the nation’s preeminent diversity engineering organizations, which collectively serve more than 85,000 pre-collegiate, collegiate and professional members. The expertise and more than 188 years of collective experience of the coalition’s founding organizations perfectly position them to tackle the coalition’s goal.

IEEE-USA MOVE Community Outreach Program

MOVE Community Outreach, an IEEE-USA Initiative, is an emergency relief program committed to assisting victims of natural disasters with short-term communications, computer, and power solutions. These temporary emergency relief provisions help those affected stay connected and make sure they can access the help they need. Services include phone charging, internet & communications support, and lighting to disaster victims.

IEEE Robotics & Automation Society Pre-College Resources

The IEEE Robotics & Automation Society focuses on reaching future generations beginning at the university level through our Student Branch Chapters and Student Activities Committee. However, there are often inquires as to how to empower even younger generations with an early look at the robotics and automation field.

Tryengineering.org is a resource for students, their parents, their teachers and their school counselors. This is a portal about engineering and engineering careers, and we hope it will help young people understand better what engineering means, and how an engineering career can be made part of their future.Students will find here descriptions of the lifestyles and experiences of engineers, and on the different disciplines within engineering. We provide hands-on experiments and activities, referrals to summer programs and internship opportunities, and search tools for schools that offer engineering programs. Useful tips on course selection, applying to university programs and financial aid are included.

TryNano.org

TryNano.org is a resource for anyone interested in learning about Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Nanoscience and Nanotechnology are technical fields that focus on matter at the nanoscale – dimensions that are roughly 1 to 100 nanometers (1nm = 10-9m).The term Nanoscience often refers to research that discovers and characterizes new behaviors and properties of materials at the nanoscale. Nanotechnology describes how discoveries at the nanoscale are put to work, especially by controlling the behavior of matter and building useful devices. Some of these devices have demonstrated applications in medicine, electronics, robotics, and energy production.

LinkEngineering

The LinkEngineering website is an online community of educators interested in providing meaningful engineering experiences to PreK-12 students of all abilities.LinkEngineering is a community of educators working with PreK-12 students in classrooms or other settings. This includes – but is not limited to – teachers, teacher educators, and administrators. The site allows members to connect with each other and engineering education experts.LinkEngineering is a resource website that provides examples of engineering in educational settings. It also provides background information on engineering and engineering design.

Future City Competition

The mission of the National Engineers Week Future City Competition is to provide a fun and exciting educational engineering program for seventh- and eighth-grade students that combines a stimulating engineering challenge with a “hands-on” application to present their vision of a city of the future.

FIRST

Participants master skills and concepts to aid in learning science and technology through innovative projects and robotics competitions, while gaining valuable employment and life skills.
