Peter A. Eckstein HeadshotPeter Eckstein is an engineering management professional with extensive experience in the design and development of sophisticated electronic and  electromechanical systems.  He is retired from Northrop Grumman Corp., where he held various engineering managerial positions of increasing responsibility involving U.S. Navy electronic warfare system avionics.In addition, Eckstein is an Adjunct Professor of Physics at Suffolk County Community College, where he is responsible for lecture and lab development of calculus and algebra based physics courses, at Queensborough Community College, where he teaches physics and astronomy, and at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, where he teaches physics and engineering.Peter A. Eckstein received the B.S. degree in Electrical Technology from the New York Institute of Technology in 1967. He received an M.S. in Applied Physics from Adelphi University in 1971 and an M.S. in Management Engineering in 1974.

An IEEE Senior Member, Peter Eckstein has been active in various volunteer roles at the section, region, society and IEEE Board-levels, including previous service on the IEEE-USA Board of Directors as Vice President, Government Relations (2008-2009) and as Region 1 Director (2012-2013).
